A surprising walk through the vineyards
\nThe excursion on May 1st began at 10.15am, directly from the Boffenigo.
\n“Renate, a German guest of ours, and I climbed from the copse below the hotel and headed down to the Monvei area among the olive groves, and arrived at Bardolino. – says Vanessa – When we came out onto the Sem road we stopped at the Ca\u2019 Bottura farm to have a sip of an excellent Garganega, and suddenly we saw a vintage tractor rally. There were quite a number of them and from different years … even mine! The oldest was from the 1940s and we had the chance to climb onto it … an enjoyable surprise also because it was the first edition of the event!”<\/p>\n
The excursion then continued on the way back, passing through the Bondi area and finally to Murlongo. Surrounded by nature, the walk allowed Vanessa and Renate to admire the beauty of the gentle hills of Bardolino and the south-east of \u200b\u200bLake Garda, an area that today hosts an extensive cultivation of vineyards for the production of the renowned Bardolino DOC wine.<\/p>\n
Discovering the Ca\u2019 Bottura farm
\nGoing up the road that from Bardolino takes you to Albar\u00e8 di Costermano, a few meters from the suggestive Eremo San Giorgio, is the Ca\u2019 Bottura farm, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It is the heart of the classic Bardolino wine area and the destination of the first excursion with the Boffenigo.<\/p>\n
Ca\u2019 Bottura is run by is Maurizio Andreoli, a winemaker who inherited the passion for wine from his father Romano and today works together with his son Andrea, tending the vineyards, producing wine and bottling it. His wife Fabiola, very friendly and always smiling, takes care of the guests!<\/p>\n
The Andreoli family is deeply devoted to this sector, but above all have a great respect for the area surrounding the farm, two features which are reflected in their products: from the award-winning Bardolino Chiaretto Brut Spumante Doc to the fresh Garganega, tasted during the trip (What a treat!).<\/p>\n
