From Garda to Lazise

The Veronese shore of Lake Garda is ideal for romantic and relaxing bike tours, either alone or with the family. Here, in fact, there are several flat routes suitable for everyone, such as the 13-kilometre route from Garda to Lazise. Starting from the charming Punta San Vigilio and following the cycle path along the gulf of Garda, you can cycle to Bardolino, a town in the middle of the “Riviera degli Olivi” and home of the wine of the same name that grows on the hills in the hinterland. The cobbled streets, flower-filled alleyways, colourful little houses and fishing boats make Bardolino a little pearl of the lake. From here the cycle path continues to the fortified town of Lazise, whose historic centre is enclosed within the walls of an ancient Scaliger castle. Here, a visit to the Customs House is a must, as it is home to unmissable cultural and gastronomic events.

From Malcesine to Brenzone

Another route that offers an enchanting panorama of Lake Garda is the one from Malcesine to Brenzone, for a total of 32 kilometres round trip. Again, this is an easy and safe cycle path, which is also perfect for children. It starts at Navene, north of Malcesine, and passes through Val di Sogno and Cassone to Brenzone sul Garda. This is a wonderful route to discover small villages and lesser-known places on the lake, that are true historical gems, where stopping for a coffee is an immense pleasure.

From Peschiera to Garda a Mantova

Moving to the southernmost part of Lake Garda, there is a cycle path leading from Peschiera del Garda to Mantua, following the course of the River Mincio, the protagonist of this beautiful excursion into nature. About 45 kilometres long, this cycle path is well signposted and with a modest difference in altitude, but above all isolated from the traffic of the main roads.
Starting from Porta Brescia, the route follows the right bank of the river as far as Monzambano, where it switches to the left bank. Here we continue towards Borghetto sul Mincio, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, where a stop to admire the landscape is a must, among fortifications, streams, parks, windmills and splendid views. The cycle path continues along the river as far as Pozzolo and then from Volta Mantovana the path moves away from the banks and into the countryside to reach the historic centre of Mantua.

Would you like to know more itineraries on Lake Garda? There are plenty for cyclists of all levels, from amateurs to experts, and I’m here to give you the advice you need and make your biking holiday even more enjoyable at Boffenigo!
